I thought I’d be returning to Sweden to winter again, but strangely, it was 12 degrees Celsius today and the sun was so hot I was walking around without a coat. The ice is melting, the streets are gushing with meltwater, and the snow is slipping languorously from the roof tops onto the pavements below.
Today I’ve been learning how to use Max at HUMlab X here at Umeå University. Max is a platform that can be used to make ‘interactive sounds, graphics, custom effects’. The plan is to create a digital soundscape, soundtrack or whatever comes, for the Human Seasons project. So I guess this post is a bit self-referencing, but the potential for working with sound, and especially the sound of archaeology, is very exciting.
