Clearing up after Experimental Archaeology

Today is Monday, apart from going to work, today is a day for clearing up after the weekend. The weekend was one of experimental archaeology. This has resulted in a deer skin hanging in the bathroom. The autumnal season meant a thick, luscious skin; the deer was in peak health when it was shot. However the cold and damp weather created problems with drying. The skin was stretched and processed on a frame and left for an evening in front of the fire in a smokey Viking long house. This wasn’t long enough and modern life meant that it had to be removed from this environment before it was completely dry. The bathroom radiator and a de-humidifier have successfully acted as a substitute. Tonight the skin will be packed away under the stairs ready for the next stage another weekend
